The Costs of Using JXTA: Initial Benchmarking Results
نویسنده
چکیده
Project JXTA is the first peer-to-peer application development infrastructure, which includes standard protocols and multilanguage implementations. The performance and scalability of JXTA are not well understood, despite its widespread usage in the research community and increasing popularity in the industry. This paper proposes a JXTA performance model and presents results obtained by benchmarking JXTA components. The results show the performance characteristics of the current JXTA reference implementation from a peer perspective. Important performance issues and trade-offs are identified and discussed, as a basis for the formulation of guidelines for system designers and simulation-based research of JXTA networks.

Evaluating the Efficiency and Benchmarking of Regions in an Electricity Distribution Company Using a Public Lighting Asset Management Model
Public lighting networks are constructed and maintained to provide social security and traffic safety. Due to the expansion of cities, the development in public lighting is inevitable. In addition to new investment, the public lighting service and maintenance program imposes high costs on distribution companies. Since performance assessment methods focus on a combination of key performance indi...

Project JXTA is an open-source effort to formulate and implement the core peer-to-peer (p2p) computation and collaboration protocols. A JXTA peer network is a complex overlay, constructed on top of the physical network, with its own identification scheme and routing. This paper reviews the performance of JXTA networks using benchmarking. The two major versions of the JXTA protocol implementatio...

The paper presents unified analytical solution for combining high-frequency and low-frequency economic time-series by additive and proportional Denton methods with parametrical dependence on the initial values of variable and indicator in evident form. This solution spans Denton’s original and Cholette’s advanced benchmarking initial conditions as the subcases. Computational complexity of the o...
